Laboratory of Macromolecular and Organic Chemistry

Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), The Netherlands [Professor E. W. Meijer]

Main Role in the Project: The Organic Chemistry group at the Eindhoven University of Technology is performing research on the following topics: Dendrimers and novel architectures, supramolecular chemistry, organics with unconventional electro-optical properties and stereochemistry. Moreover, their achievements are well-known on the field of the self-assembly of supramolecular structures in solution and at surfaces.

Principal Scientist: Prof. E. W. Meijer is Full Professor in Organic Chemistry. He was research scientist with Philips Research from 1982-1989 and DSM Research from 1989-1992. In 1992 he was appointed Professor at Eindhoven University of Technology. He is recipient of the 1993 gold medal of the Royal Dutch Chemical Society. In 1995 he received the Arthur K. Doolittle Award of the ACS. In 2001 he received the Spinoza Award of the Dutch Science Foundation.
